Premium Events: Expert-Led Training, Shared Across the Community

Some sessions are too good to keep to yourself. ClassView Premium Events change that. By bringing multiple colleges into the same live event, we can bring in the calibre of speaker that would normally be reserved for large conferences or bespoke in-house events and make it accessible to everyone in the community. Fewer colleges paying full freight for a single expert; more colleges getting access to the same expertise for a sensible fraction of the cost.

Our first Premium Event brings Essential Self Defence's Managing Conflict session to the ClassView Community, a highly practical, highly rated programme normally delivered one college at a time.

The cost of this event is £125.00 per organisation - a purchase order will be required on booking.

Essential Self Defence

Garry Estherby, founder of Essential Self Defence, brings over 30 years of experience, having discovered the clear distinctions between martial arts and self defence later in life. He now works closely with schools and colleges, helping students and staff develop de-escalation techniques and conflict management skills. Liana Ingrao, Director at Essential Self Defence, has eight years' experience as a self-defence instructor, equipping individuals with practical skills to build personal safety, awareness, and confidence. She is passionate about creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment. Together, Garry and Liana help others recognise their own strength and resilience, empowering them to navigate challenging situations with greater assurance and control.

Managing Conflict Effectively

Build the skills to handle challenging situations calmly and confidently. Through interactive activities, real-life scenarios, and group discussions, we will explore and gain insight into how individuals respond under pressure, including the impact of the brain’s “fight, flight, or freeze” response and learn simple techniques to stay in control instead of reacting impulsively.

This interactive 60-minute session will also include a physical section. By understanding both the science and the practical skills, you’ll gain the confidence to respond thoughtfully, recognise triggers, manage emotions, and defuse tension before it escalates.

Audience: Suitable for students aged 16+

Equipment: No equipment required, just an open space to move around in

Duration: 60 minutes including practical section

Registration: A minimum of 10 participants required per organisation

Connections: Open to 6 organisational connections per session

Want to host this event?

As the host college, your standard booking fee covers attendance across both sessions on the day, giving your staff and students the flexibility to join either or both sessions at no extra cost. To host, your location must be within an approximate 1-hour travel radius of Hertford.

Discount Available

Colleges that confirm interest in an onsite Essential Self Defence session at the time of booking will receive 25% off the onsite fee, provided the booking is made within 8 weeks of the event date. Colleges who decide later can still arrange an onsite session directly with Essential Self Defence on standard terms.

Please note: One organisation space = one connecting room . This ensures fair access to spaces across participating organisations - one booking does not automatically extend to other rooms within your organisation. Spaces should only be booked if participation is guaranteed at the time of booking.
